Carole Carter – Quilt Blogger, Speaker

Carole is an award winning quilter and pattern designer who does quilt repairs, and charity quilts for Quilts of Valor, Linus Project, Elizabeth House and other local causes. Her Autumn Elegance pattern was published in Quilts and More in the Fall 2022 issue.

She was published in Quilts and More in Fall 2021 with her Evening Harvest Quilt pattern.

Carole is the designer of the Scrap Dance series of patterns available on her blog. Each of these patterns began as a mystery quilt on her blog. When the mystery is over, she combines all the steps into one easy to understand pattern.

Carole has tutorials on her blog for borders, binding, and many other quilting projects.  See her blog at From My Carolina Home.

Carole is available for speaking to quilting groups and guilds in live events and on Zoom. She offers three programs to choose from, two on Zoom, and all three are available for in-person meetings. All three programs run just over an hour, both in person and on Zoom, with extra time allowed for questions. In-person programs have handouts and pass-around examples to make the learning fun and interesting. Typically, I provide one or more door prizes as well. The contract may also include a workshop for the same day or next day for my To The Nines pattern or another of my Scrap Dance patterns in table topper size. She primarily works within a three hour drive of Asheville, North Carolina for in person programs. For more information, click on Speaker Programs to inquire.

Although Carole no longer does repairs, you can see some of her repair tutorials on her blog From My Carolina Home – Well Loved Quilt Repairs, and take her class so you can do repairs yourself.

Carole’s quilts have won awards at the Mountain Regional State Fair and at Western Carolina Quilt Guild.  Here’s just a small sample of her many ribbons!

  1. Beautiful work. I’m trying to repair my friend’s great grandmother ‘a quilt but people cut out entire blocks top, batting and backing. I have been able to recreate a block to fit in the spots but now I don’t know how to join them together since front and back have raw edges. Wondering if you have any thoughts. Thank you

  2. I was so pleased with the repairs done to my quilt! It looks as good as new. Everything was matched so well with the original pattern that even I had a hard time picking out where the repairs have been done. Excellent work!!!

  3. Carole does an outstanding job with repairs. Her repair to my grandmother’s quilt made it possible to use it again.

  4. It’s here! It’s stunning! You did such a fabulous job. Thank you so so so much! Oh my goodness. It’s impossible to tell which are original or replacements and I bought the fabric! You are an artist. I have already sent your contact info to six women with vintage quilts needing help. I cried when I opened the box, Carole, words fall short. Thank you.
