A prize-winning quilter, Kathleen is active in national and international quilt shows and competitions. She presents classes and lectures to clubs and guilds and is a skilled quilt show judge. She recently moved ‘back home’ to North Carolina after living for many years in California. An accomplished quilter on her “domestic” sewing machine, she has added an APQS “Lucy” longarm to her fleet of sewing machines.

Kathleen’s creative works feature the use of gorgeous, hand-embroidered antique table linens, originally crafted in the 1930s to the 1950s in Europe. She uses an antique tablecloth, runner, or handkerchief as the base for newly designed whole cloth quilts that have won prizes at major shows including the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza, the Savannah Quilt Fest, and the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival. Last year, a show of her quilts was featured at the McLean Textile Gallery in Washington, DC, and a new show is scheduled to occur at the Virginia Quilt Museum in late 2022.

Are you looking for someone to present a class, give a lecture or trunk show, or judge a quilt show? Kathleen brings her enthusiasm, creativity, and humor to each of these venues. Trunk Shows and Lectures can be tailored for any intended audience, and feature Kathleen’s original quilts that have won ribbons and prizes in various shows and competitions. By inviting her to present to your guild or club, you will enable your members to view quilts that normally they could only see in national shows or museums – and she will share the secrets of the design and stitching process. Her works are equally interesting to the longarm quilter, the domestic machine quilter, or a lover of fine table linens and beautiful things.

Classes
There are so many fun things in quilting to learn in a class. Join Kathleen and explore design, style, and line. Learn how to set a piece of antique lace in a traditional or modern setting. Make darling pincushions or journal covers with 1950s kitchen towels featuring adorable embroidery. Or explore a basic quilt making skill like accuracy in piecing or stash organization. Relax and learn how to hand-piece, and simultaneously calm your soul. Find a class that fits your quilters’ interests.
